17-Year-Old Shot, Killed At East Charlotte Convenience Store

Charlotte police are searching for the suspect who gunned down Daquan Shannon early Sunday morning at a QT on Central Avenue.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police are searching for a killer after a 17-year-old was gunned down at a QT Station in east Charlotte early Sunday morning.

Police received a call reporting the shooting shortly after midnight on March 4 at the QT Station located at 5209 Central Avenue. Responding officers found Daquan Shannon, 17, with an apparent gunshot wound.

Shannon was transported to Carolinas Medical Center - Main, where he was pronounced dead, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report.

CMPD’s crime scene search processed the crime scene and collected physical evidence, and homicide detectives canvassed the area in search of witnesses. The case remains an open investigation and CMPD asks that anyone with information contact 704-432-TIPS, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
