Police ID Woman Killed During Armed Robbery In East Charlotte
A woman has been pronounced dead following an early morning armed robbery Tuesday. Police are now looking for two suspects in a black sedan.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A woman was shot and killed early Tuesday morning during an early morning armed robbery in east Charlotte, according to police, who are asking for the public’s help in finding two suspects who fled the crime scene.
Initial reports from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department had mistakenly said two victims were shot in the incident.
The robbery occurred shortly after 6 a.m. in the 6200 block of Barrington Drive. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Maria Eduvigig Echeverria de Gomez, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital by medical staff.

“CMPD is looking for two black males that fled the scene in a black sedan,” CMPD said in a statement on Twitter. “They were last seen driving on Barrington towards Milton Road.”
CMPD asks that anyone who may have information about the crime or the suspects’ location contact 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
