CMPD Launches Investigation Into Homicide Near NoDa

Charlotte police found a man shot to death on Atmore Street early Wednesday morning. An investigation is now underway.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police have launched a homicide investigation after a 37-year-old man was found shot to death near NoDa early Wednesday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said they received a call for service shortly before 6:30 a.m. March 7 in the 4100 block of Atmore Street, where they found the victim, who has been identified as Damien Rashad Mack, with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the CMPD report.

CMPD is canvassing the area for witnesses and asks that anyone with information about this incident call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, or 704-43-TIPS and ask to speak directly to Homicide Detective Tisdale.
