Stabbing, Shooting Leave Two Dead In Charlotte Overnight

Two men were killed in separate cases overnight in Charlotte. Here's what police are saying about the cases.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte police are investigating two unrelated homicides after a stabbing and shooting Tuesday night left two men dead.

Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday night, a man was stabbed during a fight involving a group of people outside a west Charlotte apartment complex in the 3200 block of Timberbrook Drive, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. The suspect, who police later identified as Johnny Bee Boyd, bolted from the scene. The victim, identified Wednesday morning as 27-year-old Kwame Deese, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment but was later pronounced dead.

By Wednesday morning, CMPD located and arrested Boyd and charged him with murder.

Hours later, around 11 p.m. Oct 24, police responded to a 911 call for help for an armed robbery. At the scene they discovered a man, who had been in his office inside a business in the 3100 block of Amity Court, had been shot to death in front of a female witness. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police dispatched a K-9 team and a helicopter search in an attempt to locate the suspect, but he was not found, CMPD said.

CMPD is actively investigating both cases and ask anyone with information about the incidents call 704-432-TIPS, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
