Suspect Wanted For Multiple Felonies On The Run: CMPD

Traevon Demario Newman, who was awaiting trial for breaking and entering charges, cut of his electronic monitor Wednesday, police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A suspect awaiting trial for multiple counts of felony breaking and entering and larceny after break-in charges is on the run after cutting off his court-ordered electronic monitoring device, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

According to a police report, Traevon Demario Newman, 28, was last known to be in the 1100 block of Everett Place Sept. 26.

He was ordered to wear the electronic monitoring device as a condition of pre-trial release, and now faces additional damage to property and interfering with an electronic monitoring device charges.

Newman is described as 5-foot, 6-inches tall and about 160 pounds.

CMPD asks that anyone with information on his location call the Electronic Monitoring Unit at 704-432-8888, option #3 or call 911.
