CHARLOTTE, NC -- A witness' call to 911 in Charlotte Sunday evening led to the arrest of a man for sexaully assaulting two young girls he was caregiver for near Independence Park, police said Monday morning. The witness called 911 around 8:05 p.m. to alert police after he said he saw a man, now identified by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police as Ivan Dawkins, 43, sexually assaulting the two young girls in the 1400 block of Armory Drive. CMPD officers were able to quickly locate Dawkins and the 7-year-old and 9-year-old girls nearby.
