• 2 homes gutted in Emerald Isle fire; massive explosion seen for miles at NC coast (myfox8.com) — Fire crews from across Bogue Banks, including Pine Knoll Shores, rushed to Emerald Isle Saturday when a massive blaze and explosion gutted two oceanfront homes and damaged several others. Ocean Drive was shut down as firefighters battled heavy flames, but no injuries were reported. The incident highlights regional emergency cooperation that directly involves Pine Knoll Shores responders.
• Sampson County deputies charge man in alleged $120K exploitation of disabled veteran (wcti12.com) — A man accused of exploiting a disabled veteran for roughly $120,000 was arrested in Carteret County by Pine Knoll Shores police on Sampson County warrants. Investigators say he may have targeted several women through online relationships and false claims about government and military ties. Authorities are urging anyone with similar dealings to contact Sampson County investigators.
