• Superior Court judge orders Spindale home vacated after reported illegal activity (wlos.com) — A Superior Court judge has ordered the home at 162 Grose Street in Spindale vacated and put up for sale after repeated drug-related incidents and emergency calls strained local police, fire, and EMS. Following an investigation by Spindale Police and state alcohol law enforcement, the court barred the former tenant and owner from living within 50 miles of the property to protect the surrounding neighborhood.
   

• Word of Faith religious group leader gets probation in NC assault case (foxcarolina.com) — A church leader connected to the Word of Faith Fellowship compound in Spindale has received two years of probation after pleading to misdemeanor charges in a long-running assault case involving a former member. The plea deal, reached more than nine years after a mistrial, avoids jail time but requires community service and follows years of scrutiny of the Spindale-based church's practices.
