Today's riddle: Do you know what the two sides of a circle are? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Parents 'skeptical' about Wake Schools' special education initiative (abc11.com) — Wake Forest families with special education students are directly affected by a new multiyear Wake County Schools initiative that some parents say lacks enough staffing and support. A Wake Forest parent and others voiced skepticism after Tuesday's meeting, citing past funding-cut proposals and ongoing trust issues. District leaders plan more discussion and public feedback sessions this winter.
• Suspected bad-fuel complaints jump 23% in North Carolina, and the evidence can disappear (wral.com) — Drivers in Wake Forest should know a Speedway on Capital Boulevard reported a diesel-gasoline mix-up recently, part of a 23% jump in bad-fuel complaints statewide. Inspectors couldn't confirm the issue because the fuel was removed, but they have verified problems at several other Triangle-area stations. Save receipts and repair records immediately if your car acts up after fueling.
• Three missing children recovered after arrest; warrant was issued in Douglas County (kval.com) — Three missing children were safely recovered when U.S. Marshals arrested a wanted fugitive in Wake Forest on September 10, ending a multi-state search. Authorities say the woman, wanted out of Oregon and tied to cases in several states, had been using multiple aliases. Residents are urged to report any information about fugitives to the Marshals Service tip line.
