1. BCCC dedicates Student Success Center to Dorothy S. Jordan (wcti12.com) — Beaufort County Community College in Washington has renamed its Student Success Center and TRIO program in honor of longtime student advocate Dorothy S. Jordan, celebrating her 40-plus years of service. Community members, family, and staff gathered for the dedication, which also introduced a new memorial scholarship and its first recipient, ensuring Jordan's support for local students continues.
   

2. Beaufort County Street Crimes Unit makes 8 felony arrests (wnct.com) — Recent enforcement by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office led to several felony drug arrests, including two Washington residents now facing serious trafficking and possession charges. Deputies say the two-week operation seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and $15,000 in cash. Residents are urged to report suspicious activity to the sheriff's office.
   

3. Florida Boat Owner And North Carolina Navigator Arrested For Battery After Sailboat Brawl (tampafp.com) — A Washington man was arrested in Florida after a dispute aboard a sailboat near Everglades National Park turned into a physical fight. Authorities say both he and the boat's owner from Orlando accused each other of punching, scratching, and biting before deputies intervened and charged both with battery.
   

4. Nathaniel 'Tater' James Draper (beaufortcountynow.com) — Family and friends in Washington can pay their respects to Nathaniel "Tater" James Draper during a visitation this evening at Paul Funeral Home on John Small Avenue. The 21-year-old, remembered for his resilience through lifelong medical challenges and his bright, joyful spirit, will be laid to rest in the Draper Family Cemetery in Pinetown.
