Winston-Salem rejects youth-curfew extension; Oct. 12 end date (wschronicle.com) — Winston-Salem's temporary youth curfew will end at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, after the City Council voted 6–2 against extending it. Until then, teens under 18 are still restricted from most public places between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., with exceptions for work, supervised activities, emergencies, and other listed circumstances that families should review carefully.
   

2. Water-tank work may affect Winston-Salem, Rural Hall pressure (wschronicle.com) — Winston-Salem water customers near University Parkway, U.S. 52, and surrounding roads may see lower pressure or discolored water through Thursday evening, Oct. 8, while the Norman Drive tank is offline for maintenance. The city says the water is safe to use, but suggests delaying laundry with light-colored fabrics and reporting any issues to CityLink.
   

3. Cheapest gas stations in Winston-Salem (reflector.com) — If you're filling up in Winston-Salem today, this list highlights the cheapest gas options around town, from NC-150 to multiple spots on Hanes Mall Boulevard. Prices range from $3.77 to $3.93 for regular fuel, giving you several ways to save a bit at the pump.
   

4. Winston-Salem mom charged after infant death investigation found meth: Police (wxii12.com) — Winston-Salem residents should know that a local mother has been charged after investigators say her one-month-old baby died with methamphetamine in his system in October 2025. Winston-Salem police arrested her Monday on trafficking, child abuse, and related charges, and she is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
