With Fargo below national officer-per-resident benchmarks, the Finance Committee is weighing whether to back four or eight new positions, plus a community service officer, in the 2027 budget.

Fargo gas station owner says high prices are needed to stay open (inforum.com) β A family-owned gas station on 52nd Avenue South in Fargo is charging about 30 cents more per gallon than nearby competitors, saying it's the only way to avoid losing hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Owner Jared Schultes argues big chains can absorb low prices across regions, while independents cannot, and he's asking Fargo customers to understand and support the business.

Winnipeg holds down RedHawks for win (inforum.com) β Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks fans saw Winnipeg notch 11 hits in a 6-2 win Wednesday night at Newman Outdoor Field, despite nine hits from the home team. After stranding 11 runners but briefly closing the gap on a Jose Sermo single, the RedHawks will get another shot when they host Winnipeg again Thursday evening.

Fargo VA to build larger Bismarck clinic (kfyrtv.com) β Veterans in Fargo and across western North Dakota could see shorter trips for care as the Fargo VA Health Care System builds a much larger clinic in north Bismarck. The new facility will triple the current clinic's size, add key services like imaging and mental health, and eventually create about 44 new positions, with completion targeted for July 2027.
