North Dakota veterans walk statewide Sept. 22 to raise awareness about veteran suicide (valleynewslive.com) — Fargo veterans and neighbors are invited to join a free 2.2‑mile "Walk for the 22" on Sept. 22, starting 9:22 a.m. at Percy Godwin Park and ending at Post 762 VFW downtown. Organized by Fargo-based Heroes Compass with Fargo VA support, the walk highlights veteran suicide awareness while connecting local participants to resources and a statewide network of veteran groups.
2. Watching agriculture grow: 46 years of the Big Iron Farm Show (agweek.com) — Just west of Fargo, the Big Iron Farm and Construction Show returns Sept. 15–17 to the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, drawing tens of thousands for equipment demos, seminars and a free Eli Young Band and LANCO concert. Organizers say Cass County's agriculture-focused community continues to shape the show's growth, with new technology, construction exhibits and networking opportunities for local farmers and businesses.
3. Prairie Business publishes list of 2026's 50 Best Places to Work (inforum.com) — Several Fargo and West Fargo employers, including Enclave, Gate City Bank, and TrueNorth Steel, have been named among Prairie Business magazine's 50 Best Places to Work for 2026. Local workers helped nominate these companies, praising culture, growth opportunities, and strong morale, offering Fargo-area job seekers a snapshot of standout regional workplaces.
4. Volunteer search planned for Isadora Wengel evidence near Battle Lake (valleynewslive.com) — Community members connected to Fargo are being asked to help search near Battle Lake on Oct. 11 for evidence in the disappearance of 25‑year‑old Isadora Wengel, last seen at a Fargo Walmart in January. Organizers behind the "Bring Isadora Wengel Home" group previously coordinated flyer distributions in Fargo and nearby Minnesota towns, and will share search details on their Facebook page.
