May is National Foster Care Month. To celebrate the foster parents in Cass County, each foster parent will receive a thank you card and small gift to show our appreciation. In an effort to recruit more foster homes and bring awareness to foster care month, the foster care coalition from Region 5 met on May 10th to hang blue ribbons for each of the 272 foster children in foster care in this region. Region 5 consists of Cass, Richland, Barnes, Ransom and Sargent Counties.

In Cass County Human Service Zone there are 87 foster homes that are licensed by Cass. The ribbons will be displayed until May 24th outside of the West acres mall. The important thing to remember is that there is a  continued need for foster parents in Cass County.  Currently the need is for homes that have availability to be licensed for children ages 8 and up. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, please call the ND Foster Parent Recruitment Inquiry at 1-833-378-4663.
