For over 30 years, NDSU’s Cass County Extension has provided youth age 6 to 17 a great place to garden. Through the Urban Youth Garden program, youth and their family can produce fresh vegetables while learning lifelong skills of gardening. Each youth who enrolls in the garden program will have a 20 by 20-foot garden plot to plan, plant, maintain and harvest as their own. A $10 deposit is required for each plot. The garden plots are on land provided by the Fargo Park District, which is located near McKinley Elementary, 10th Street and 30th Avenue N., Fargo.
To enroll in the Urban Youth Garden program, contact Don Kinzler, NDSU Cass County Horticulture Agent, at donald.kinzler@ndsu.edu, and you’ll be sent a registration form.
