The City Of Fargo Encourages Residents To Respond To Census By September 30 Deadline

Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and the City of Fargo are asking residents to complete their U.S. Census survey by the September 30 deadline. A large percentage of Fargo’s residents have already responded, but a total count of all residents is still possible, and would ensure a larger share of federal funding over the next decade. Federal agencies use the results of the Census to distribute more than $675 billion in federal funds each year. This federal funding provides critical support for education, arts, family support programs, transportation, and local government.

Residents may respond to the Census online at 2020Census.gov. Census responses are entirely confidential and the survey is normally completed within ten minutes.

“Responding to the 2020 Census is one of the easiest and most important ways Fargo residents can influence our community’s future. Federal funding for infrastructure, education and social services all stems from Census data. We can all do our part to shape a path to success for Fargo,” said Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney.
