City Of Fargo: Temporary Lane Closures And Detours On 55th Street Begin Week Of August 23 To Facilitate Natural Gas System Upgrades

Beginning the week of August 23, construction at the intersection of 55th St. S. and 22nd and 23rd Aves. S. will cause lane shifts and temporary partial road closures in both directions on 23rd Ave. S. Drivers should expect a temporary closure of the westbound lanes of 23rd Ave. S. toward Veterans Boulevard, with a detour along 55th St. S. Eastbound traffic will be temporarily reduced to a single lane during construction. The closure is necessary to facilitate the upgrade of Xcel Energy’s natural gas system. The upgrade will increase the system’s capacity and support system resiliency during cold weather events. Construction related closures are expected to last approximately two weeks.
