From the City of Fargo: The Native American Commission will co-host a community-wide Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration on Oct. 14. This year for the first time, the City of Fargo is excited to welcome the City of Moorhead in officially recognizing the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Join the community in celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day with multiple free, family-friendly events scheduled throughout the day and open to the public. During the powwow at Moorhead High, the Native American Commission’s prestigious Gladys Ray Award will be presented by Amber Mattson, Gladys Ray’s granddaughter. There may be a quorum of the Native American Commission at these events.

The mission of the Fargo Native American Commission is to work together to strengthen the Native American community in order to promote understanding, recognition, and respect for Native American cultures and enrich the whole community.
