Coronavirus Cases, Deaths Up In Ohio On Thursday

More than 1,200 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed among Ohioans on Thursday.

COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio saw an uptick in nearly of its key COVID-19 metrics on Thursday.

Health officials confirmed 1,244 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. Over the past three weeks, Ohio has averaged 1,017 new coronavirus cases per day.

Deaths caused by COVID-19 were also up Thursday. Over the past 24 hours, 32 Ohioans died due to complications caused by the virus. Since the start of the pandemic 4,076 Ohioans have died because of COVID-19.

Hospitalizations related to the virus topped 100 on Thursday. In 24 hours, 107 Ohioans entered hospitals for COVID-19 care. That's up versus the state average of 85 COVID-19 hospitalizations per day.
