Coronavirus In Ohio: 1,166 New Cases, 22 Deaths

COLUMBUS, OH — On the day that Gov. Mike DeWine announced he had tested positive for COVID-19, state health officials confirmed more than 1,000 other coronavirus cases among Ohioans.

In the past 24 hours, 1,166 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by Ohio health officials. There have now been more than 97,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ohio since the beginning of the pandemic.

Twenty-two Ohioans died from COVID-19 complications in the past 24 hours, the Ohio Department of Health confirmed. More than 3,600 Ohioans have died due to complications caused by the virus.
