Coronavirus In Ohio: 36 New Deaths, 413 New Cases
Ohio saw a slight uptick in deaths and hospitalizations caused by COVID-19 on Wednesday.
COLUMBUS, OH — On Wednesday, Ohio saw a slight increase in deaths and hospitalizations caused by the new coronavirus, the state health department reported.
State officials used a daily average, determined over three weeks, to judge whether key COVID-19 tracking metrics are trending up, down or leveling off. On Wednesday, new cases of the virus were down slightly, as were intensive care admissions, but new deaths and hospitalizations caused COVID-19 were up.
At least 36 Ohioans died due to complications caused by COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the Ohio Department of Health reported. Since the start of the outbreak, at least 2,457 Ohioans have died because of the virus.

At least 73 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19 on Wednesday, up slightly versus the state's three-week per day average for hospitalizations.

Here are the new cases, deaths and other metrics reported in the past 24 hours:
- New cases: 413 (three-week per day average: 483)
- New deaths: 36 (32)
- New hospital admission: 73 (71)
- New intensive care admissions: 6 (16)
For comparison, here were the COVID-19 numbers reported by Ohio on Tuesday:
- New cases: 325
- New deaths: 17
- New hospital admission: 70
- New intensive care admissions: 40
