Coronavirus In Ohio: Fewer Than 1,000 New Cases Confirmed
While cases continue a downswing, COVID-19-related deaths are still up in Ohio.
COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio officials again confirmed fewer than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
On Wednesday, the Ohio Department of Health announced it had confirmed 958 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. In the past three weeks, Ohio has averaged nearly 1,100 new COVID-19 cases per day.
However, cases have been steadily climbing since Aug. 16, when officials confirmed only 613 new cases in a day. Since that date, more cases have been confirmed on each consecutive day.

COVID-19-related deaths were also up on Wednesday. At least 36 Ohioans have died from the virus in the past 24 hours, up versus the state's average of 23 COVID-19 deaths per day.

Hospitalizations and ICU admissions remained largely level with their averages. Here are all of Wednesday's COVID-19 numbers:
- New cases: 958
- New deaths: 36
- New hospitalizations: 93
- New ICU admissions: 22
