Officials Confirm More Than 1,000 New Coronavirus Cases In Ohio
All of Ohio's key COVID-19 metrics trended up on Thursday.

COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio officials confirmed more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the state health department announced.
In the past 24 hours, health officials confirmed 1,121 new COVID-19 cases. That's the most cases confirmed this week and more than the state's three-week average of 1,052 new coronavirus cases per day.
The majority of new cases appear to be among Ohioans between the ages of 0 and 29, Gov. Mike DeWine said Thursday.

Ohio also saw an uptick in deaths caused by COVID-19 on Thursday. At least 30 Ohioans died from coronavirus complications in the past 24 hours. More than 4,300 Ohioans have died because of COVID-19.

Hospitalizations and intensive care admissions related to COVID-19 were also up on Thursday. Here are all of Thursday's COVID-19 numbers:
- New cases: 1,121
- New deaths: 30
- New hospitalizations: 81
- New ICU admissions: 16
