Ohio Added To New York's Quarantine Travel List
Anyone who goes from Ohio to New York must self-quarantine for 14 days, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced.
ALBANY, NY — Ohio has been added to New York's COVID-19 travel advisory list. Anyone who goes from Ohio to New York must self-quarantine for 14 days, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced.
"Individuals arriving from these states must undertake a precautionary quarantine for 14 days," Cuomo said in an announcement on Twitter. He said travelers from Ohio would also have to fill out an online form from the New York Department of Health.
Ohio is in the midst of a sustained surge in new COVID-19 cases. Approximately one-third of the state's total confirmed cases have been discovered in the past three weeks. The state is now averaging more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases per day.

Twelve Ohio counties are currently classified as "red," meaning there is "very high" spread of COVID-19 locally. Those counties are under a mandatory mask mandate. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has been urging Ohioans to wear masks and respect social distancing, but some lawmakers have been pushing back. State Rep. Nino Vitale recently told Ohioans to stop getting tested for COVID-19.
