Ohio Again Tops 4,000 New Coronavirus Cases In A Single Day

Deaths related to coronavirus were also up Wednesday, with 55 Ohioans dying from COVID-19 complications.

COLUMBUS, OH — For the second day in a row, Ohio has topped 4,000 new COVID-19 cases in a single day.

Over the past 24 hours, health officials have confirmed 4,071 new COVID-19 cases among Ohioans. That's down slightly from Tuesday's record-breaking 4229 new cases.

Ohio is now averaging 2,639 new COVID-19 cases per day.

Deaths related to coronavirus were also up Wednesday. At least 55 Ohioans have died from COVID-19 complications in the past 24 hours, according to the Ohio Department of Health. More than 5,400 Ohioans have now died because of the virus.
