Ohio Governor Praying For President After Positive COVID-19 Test

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said he was praying for President Donald Trump and his wife Melania following their positive coronavirus tests.

COLUMBUS, OH — Gov. Mike DeWine said he was praying for President Donald Trump after the president tested positive for COVID-19.

"Fran and I join our fellow Ohioans in praying for President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump after they announced early today that they have both tested positive for COVID-19," DeWine said on Friday.

Trump announced his test results on Twitter on early Friday. He said he and Melania are quarantining together and assured Americans the couple will beat the virus.

The president and his family were tested after White House adviser Hope Hicks was shown to be positive for the coronavirus just hours after traveling with the president. The president and his wife are now among more than 7.26 million Americans who have tested positive for the virus. More than 207,800 Americans have died.

"Along with millions of others, we extend our prayers and best wishes to the President and First Lady during this time for a speedy recovery and for their good health," DeWine said.
