Ohio Officials Confirm 973 New COVID-19 Cases, 26 Deaths
More than 100 Ohioans entered hospitals for COVID-19 treatment on Wednesday.
COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio again confirmed fewer than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases among residents on Wednesday. But other key COVID-19 metrics are on the rise.
In the past 24 hours, the state health department has confirmed 973 new cases of COVID-19 in Ohio. That's up versus Tuesday, but down versus the state's average of more than 1,000 new cases per day.
However, other deaths and hospitalizations related to the virus continue to spike.

At least 26 Ohioans died from COVID-19 complications in the past 24 hours. Over the past three weeks, Ohio has averaged 20 COVID-19-related deaths per day.

More alarmingly, at least 116 Ohioans have entered hospitals for COVID-19 treatment in the past day. That's up significantly from the state's averaged 74 COVID-19-related hospitalizations per day.
