CLYDE, OH — President Donald Trump will visit Ohio on Thursday.

Air Force One will land in Cleveland on Thursday before Trump is driven to a Whirlpool factory in Clyde. This is Trump's first visit to the Buckeye State since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March.

With less than 100 days until the November general election, Ohioans should expect future visits from Trump, Democratic nominee Joe Biden and their surrogates. No Republican has ever been elected president without winning Ohio.

The Whirlpool factory in Clyde employs approximately 3,000 people. Senator Rob Portman trumpeted Trump's arrival in his home state and noted his accomplishments in fighting for Whirlpool washing machines.

"I’m pleased that President Trump will be visiting the world-class workforce at Whirlpool’s Clyde factory. Since I joined the Senate in 2011, I’ve successfully fought to level the playing field for Whirlpool’s workers to ensure they can effectively compete with their foreign competitors. Over the years, I’ve testified before the International Trade Commission four times to combat unfair foreign trading practices," Portman said in a statement.
