• Akron woman gets sewage backup fixed after contacting 19 Troubleshooters (cleveland19.com) — An Akron woman living at Park Lane Manor finally saw action on a months-long sewage backup into her kitchen sink after contacting 19 Troubleshooters. Plumbers began installing an outside access drain as neighbors reported similar issues, while she also reached out to Akron's Fair Housing Authority. She hopes the fix will restore basic living conditions, including being able to shower safely again.
• Fugitive wanted by DEA, U.S. Marshals known to frequent Cleveland, Akron areas (cleveland19.com) — Residents in Akron and nearby areas are being asked to help locate a 30-year-old fugitive wanted on serious drug and weapons charges, with a reward offered for tips. Authorities say he frequents both Akron and Cleveland, and Summit County deputies also want him on a weapons charge. Anyone with information can contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force anonymously.
• Hudson educator wins award, Barberton BOE picks member, more school news (kentucky.com) — A former Akron Public Schools superintendent, David W. James, has been appointed to a six-year term on the University of Akron's Board of Trustees, strengthening local ties between K-12 and higher education. The story also highlights a Hudson High School administrator winning a statewide award, a new Barberton school board member, and upcoming Revere schools parent education sessions on truancy, bullying, and IEPs.
