• Akron firefighter injured while responding to unoccupied commercial fire (wkyc.com) — An Akron firefighter suffered minor injuries Saturday while crews knocked down a commercial building fire on Bank Street, but has already been treated and released from the hospital. The structure was empty, no other injuries were reported, nearby roads remain open with a caution advisory, and investigators are still working to determine what sparked the blaze.
   

• EMU Football edges Akron 25-23 in MAC thriller (easternecho.com) — Akron football fans saw a heartbreaker at InfoCision Stadium as the Zips fell 25-23 to Eastern Michigan on a missed last-second field goal. The back-and-forth MAC matchup featured big plays from Akron's offense but ended with the team dropping to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play, setting up a crucial road trip to Miami (OH).
