Press release from Summit County Clerk of Courts:
March 22, 2021
Summit County Clerk of Courts Sandra Kurt has announced the continuation of the office’s Jeans Pass Program, providing donations to three Summit County charitable organizations through employee contributions.
The program grants a casual dress day each Friday to employees who choose to make a yearly contribution. The employee may choose to direct their contribution to one, two, or all three of the highlighted charities chosen by the Clerk of Courts. In years past, Ms. Kurt has chosen organizations that address issues such as homelessness, hunger, animal neglect, veterans’ needs, support of cancer patients, and more.
“Our Jeans Pass Program is an example of how a government administrative office can have a direct positive impact on our local community,” Ms. Kurt said.

The recipients of the 2021 Jeans Pass Program funds are Sarah’s House Inc., Limitless Ambition, and the International Institute of Akron.
Limitless Ambition works with young women to overcome their boundaries. They educate, motivate, and inspire young women by supplying them with academic guidance, career coaching, and emotional support through mentorship programs, online initiatives, and resources. They are current partners with Akron Public Schools and Cleveland Public Schools to equip teen women with the tools needed to succeed.
The International Institute of Akron contributes to the well-being of the community by creating and implementing programs and services that assist those born outside of the United States with integration into American society. They offer education services, employment services, legal services, interpretation and translation, refugee resettlement, and social services.
Sarah’s House assists the Akron community by distributing basic food items and startup household goods. In 2019, they also began a program for the senior community called Senior Community Circles which provides a fun afternoon for seniors, including speakers, games, prizes, and a hot meal.
“I appreciate learning about the organizations doing important work in our community, and I’m extremely proud of my staff’s ongoing generosity in supporting them,” Kurt said.
