2 Killed In Lorain County Tow Truck Crash

LORAIN, OH — Two people were killed when a pickup truck crashed into a tow truck on the Ohio Turnpike in Lorain County.

A pickup truck was being helped off the road by a tow truck on Tuesday night when a Chevy pickup truck hit the towing vehicle, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The Chevy was launched into the air and landed upside down, according to WKYC.

The tow truck driver and the driver of the truck being towed both died from their injuries, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the Chevy was taken to Lorain Hospital for treatment. The Highway Patrol said they believe the driver was "impaired" and not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
