2 People Found Unconscious From Drug Use In Avon Lake

Police said one of the victims had to be rushed to the Avon Cleveland Clinic for treatment.

AVON LAKE, OH — Two people were arrested for drug use-related offenses in recent weeks in Avon Lake. Both people were found unconscious by authorities.

A 26-year-old Sheffield Lake man was arrested after police found him unconscious in his car last week. Callers reported seeing two people slumped over in their vehicle, which was parked at a shopping plaza on Avon Belden Road.

Police investigated and found the couple inside a parked and running car. The driver, the 26-year-old man, was interviewed. Officers suspected he had been using drugs and arrested him. He's being charged with physical control of a motor vehicle.

Two days later, on March 11, a 33-year-old Avon Lake woman was rushed to the Avon Cleveland Clinic after she was found unconscious in a house. The woman's father contacted emergency services, who took the woman to the hospital.

Police said the woman was semi-conscious when they left the scene. However, the woman is being charged with several crimes, including: two counts of possession of drug abuse instruments, and two counts of endangering children by creating a substantial risk.
