21-Year-Old Avon Lake Man Saved By Anti-Overdose Drug

The man was found in an apartment in Westlake. Police said it took "several" doses of Narcan to revive the man.

WESTLAKE, OH — At 1:40 a.m. last Tuesday, a woman called police and said her friend, an Avon Lake man, was barely breathing and was turning blue. Police rushed to an apartment on Detroit Road.

Once they arrived, officers found a 21-year-old Avon Lake resident that was unresponsive. Several doses of Narcan — an anti-overdose drug — were administered to the man before he started to regain consciousness. Westlake Fire arrived and took the man to a local hospital.

Investigators found two types of possible drugs: loose powder and pills. There was also a rolled up dollar bill and other drug paraphernalia found in the apartment.
