2nd Baby Bald Eagle Egg Laid In Avon Lake
A family of bald eagles near Redwood Elementary continue to grow. Bird watchers can see the eggs on a 24/7 live feed on YouTube.
AVON LAKE, OH — A second bald eagle egg has been laid in a nest near an Avon Lake school. The school has set up a live video feed for families to watch the eagle family grow.
A pair of bald eagles, named Stars and Stripes by students, have taken up residence in a nest near Redwood Elementary, Redwood Boulevard, in Avon Lake. For the past several years, the eagles have laid groups of eggs and helped them hatch into eaglets.
This year's second egg appears to have been laid at 2:30 p.m. on March 4, according to eagle watchers. The first egg appeared March 2.

In 2019, Stars and Stripes added three eggs to their nest between Feb. 28 and March 6. The first eaglet broke out of its shell on April 8. This year, the first egg was laid March 1, at about 5 p.m., according to an Avon Lake Schools spokesperson.
The district's live video feed of the eagle nest has proven to be popular with residents and bird watchers. The stream is active 24/7 and can be found here.
