3 Dog-Related Incidents Investigated By Avon Lake Police

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake police handled three dog-related incidents in July, according to police reports.

A mail delivery person was bitten by a dog in July in Avon Lake, police said.

While delivering packages on Walker Road on July 28, a delivery man was attacked by a German Sheppard/Rottweiler mix. The Avon Lake fire department provided medical treatment to the man for his bite.

When police arrived, the dog was inside its home. Avon Lake Animal Control will take over the investigation into the dog.

The day prior to the incident with the mail delivery person, an Avon Lake resident on Forest Hills Drive was cited for not going to court after they were investigated for having a dangerous dog, police said.

On July 16, on Jaycox Road, a dog attacked another mail delivery person. The dog bit the person's right arm.
