3 Drug Incidents In Avon Lake In Recent Weeks

Police said a main was seen passed out in a boat on Lake Road. He later had to be taken to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment.

AVON LAKE, OH — Three drug arrests were made in the past two weeks in Avon Lake.

A man was seen passed out in a boat near Lake Road on June 21. An officer on patrol spotted the man and went to investigate. The man was lethargic and unsteady on his feet, police said.

The man had a warrant for his arrest in Elyria. He was taken into custody, and that's when police found suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in his pockets. He was cited for drug paraphernalia and then taken to Avon Cleveland Clinic for treatment.

The drugs were placed into evidence and will be sent to a lab for testing, police said.

On June 18, police were sent to Chemtron, on Pin Oak Parkway, after suspected drugs were found inside the business. The company interviewed two employees with an officer on-hand. Both employees denied that the drugs were theirs. Police will follow-up this week to continue the investigation, police said.

Finally, on June 24, two juveniles were cited for having marijuana. They had been in a car accident and police discovered the weed on them while investigating what happened.
