3 Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Approved In Lorain County

GTI Ohio, NMG Ohio and AFS Cultivation have all received licenses to open dispensaries in the area.

LORAIN, OH — Three medical marijuana dispensaries have received licenses to open in Lorain County. Two of the dispensaries will be located in Elyria and the third will be in Lorain, according to information from the Ohio Department of Health.

The Lorain dispensary will be operated by GTI Ohio and will be located at 1920 Cooper Foster Park Road. The Elyria dispensaries would be operated by NMG Ohio and AFG Cultivation. They would have locations at 709 Sugar Lane and 603 Cleveland Street, respectively.

Two companies applied for licensure for the same 1920 Cooper Foster Park Road location that GTI received. Treat and Kure and KDJOH were both rejected because they asked to use the same address as GTI. It's unclear if they'll receive licenses for other locations at a later time.

The Lorain County dispensaries are three of of 56 dispensaries throughout Ohio. There were more than 376 applications to receive a license.

The dispensaries will be able to sell marijuana to eligible patients, Fox 8 said. All of the applicants had to get a background check and a verification that each dispensary was at least 500 feet away from a school.
