30-Year-Old Avon Lake Man ODs On Suspected Heroin
Police found the man unresponsive at his residence. They also found drug paraphernalia and what they believe is heroin at his home.

AVON LAKE, OH - The scourge of the heroin epidemic has touched every corner of Northeast Ohio. This past week its talons dug into Avon Lake again, as a 30-year-old man overdosed on what police believe is heroin. The man was taken to a local hospital and police are considering charges against the man. That story is at the bottom of this week's blotter. You can read other items below.
Traffic Complaint, Feb. 13 - Police spotted a car with a broken passenger tail light near Avon Belden Road. The driver had a suspended license. She was cited for driving with the suspension and given a verbal warning for the tail light. She was given a court date in Avon Lake Municipal Court. She was then given a courtesy ride to her employer on Jaycox Road. The vehicle remained parked in an Avon Belden parking lot until a valid driver could pick it up.
Menacing, Feb. 13 - An Orchard Park Drive man told police he had been threatened by his neighbor. When police arrived, the neighbor was shouting profanities from his driveway. Both the caller and the neighbor took statement forms to fill out and return to the police station.

Theft, Feb. 13 - Package thieves don't just hit at Christmas. A UPS package was stolen from a Regatta Drive resident's front porch.
Identity Fraud, Feb. 14 - In what is surely a twisted Valentine's Day gift, an Avon Lake man reported that his identity had been stolen. He contacted his credit bureaus, along with Windstream and Dish to get the whole thing sorted out.

Disturbance, Feb. 16 - A woman was bitten by her relative's dog after she blew on the pooch's stomach. She told police she was kissing the canine's belly and decided to blow on it, which may have caused the dog to react poorly. The woman was taken to the hospital but no puncture wounds were found. She declined to take any action against the dog.
Fraud, Feb. 15 - Two unauthorized charges were made using an Avon Lake resident's credit card. One charge was made in January and the other in February. The company where the charges were made told the resident they would not refund the full amount of the charges.
Drug Overdose, Feb. 18 - Police were called to a Parkwood Avenue residence for reports of an unresponsive 30-year-old male. Officers found what they believe is heroin and drug paraphernalia at the residence. The man was taken to a local hospital. Charges will be filed pending lab results of the suspected substance.
