3rd Eagle Egg Laid In Nest Near Avon Lake School
Bird watchers can see the egg and its bald eagle parents on a live video feed set up by the district.
AVON LAKE, OH — A third bald eagle egg has been laid in a nest near Redwood Elementary School. Eagle watchers believe the egg appeared at approximately 6 p.m. on March 7.
An Avon Lake Schools spokesperson said most eggs hatch in 33 to 37 days. The first egg appeared March 1 and the second egg was laid March 4.
A pair of bald eagles, named Stars and Stripes by students, who reside in a nest near Redwood Elementary, have been laying eggs and hatching eggs for several years. The parents and coming eaglets can be watched on a livestream set up by the school district.

The district's live video feed of the eagle nest has proven to be popular with residents and bird watchers. The stream is active 24/7 and can be found here.
In 2019, Stars and Stripes added three eggs to their nest between Feb. 28 and March 6. The first eaglet broke out of its shell on April 8.
