$4,500 Of Meth Seized In Lorain County Bust: Highway Patrol
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it also recovered a gun during a traffic stop on Friday.

LORAIN, OH — About 58 grams of methamphetamine, valued at more than $4,500, and a 9mm handgun were seized by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on Friday. The Patrol said the contraband was found during a traffic stop on Erie Avenue
A little after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, troopers stopped a rented 2017 Jeep Cherokee, with a South Carolina registration, for speeding on Erie Avenue. While talking with the driver, troopers smelled marijuana, the Highway Patrols said in a release.
Troopers then searched the car and found the narcotics and a Taurus 9mm handgun. The driver, Tyrell Allgood, 30, of Lorain, was arrested and taken to Lorain County Jail.

Allgood is being charged with possession and trafficking methamphetamine, both second-degree felonies. He is also being charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony, the Patrol said.
If Allgood is convicted, he could face 17 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.

So far this year, Ohio State Highway Patrol has made 438 drug arrests in Lorain County alone. In 2017, more than 145 pounds of methamphetamine were seized by troopers.
