5 Unruly Dog Complaints Made In August In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake police dealt with five animal complaints in August. One resident reported being bitten by a loose animal.

On Aug. 22, an Avon Lake resident reported being bitten by a dog. She said she was walking on Avon Belden Road when a dog ran from a yard and bit her left knee.

The woman did not need medical attention, but she had been unable to talk to the dog's owner. Police said the owner would be cited for animal-at-large.

On Aug. 12, a dog owner on Treeside Lane was cited for animal-at-large for two separate incidents, according to police reports.

On Aug. 8, a Brookfield Road resident was cited after their dog was barking incessantly. Police said they personally observed the dog in the home's backyard, barking.

On Aug. 5, a dog owner on Lakeside was cited for animal-at-large.

On Aug. 4, a Beck Road dog owner was cited for animals-at-large and neglect of pets.
