$50,000 Stolen In Avon Lake Burglary
Police said someone broke into a local home, damaged a safe, and stole a mass amount of cash and jewelry.

AVON LAKE, OH — A home off a Webber Road side street was burgled this month, police reported. Approximately $50,000 was stolen from a safe in the home.
The burglary happened between Nov. 8, 2018 and Jan. 16, 2019, according to a police report obtained by Patch. The owner of the home said she was not home during that time, and believes the burglary happened over that stretch.
When the resident returned to her house she found that clothes had been taken off the shelves, and someone had broken into her safe. Jewelry and $50,000 in cash were taken from the safe, according to the police report.

Police said they are not yet sure how the thief got into the house. There were no signs of forced entry at the home.
