Following severe storms in the early hours of Aug. 25, FirstEnergy of Ohio is reporting more than 5,000 residences are without power. The city was hit harder than neighboring Avon, where outages are reported between 250 and 500 units.
Lt. Jeff Moore said that no injuries were reported from the storm but a home at 204 Moorewood, owned by Thomas Glunt, had a tree fall through the roof after 2 a.m. Around town, many homes and businesses had fallen limbs.

“The owner was home,” Moore said. “No one was injured.”
Moore said tree came to rest on an interior wall beam, preventing the tree from splitting the house in two.

Cleveland.com is reporting more than 25,000 residences and buildings are without power in the city of Cleveland. Channel 19 is reporting numerous problems on major roadways including I-480.
