58-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH - Police were called to a residence on Oakwood Drive. When they arrived they found a 58-year-old woman dead. The woman was taken to the Lorain County Coroner's Office.

Found Property, Feb. 1 - A resident reported that he found two handguns near his place of employment in Cleveland. Officers later retrieved the weapons.

Theft, Feb. 3 - Prescription medication went missing from a Bellaire Road resident's home. The resident believes her nephew's ex-girlfriend stole the medication before going to Indiana. The resident did not request further investigation.

Animal Offense, Feb. 4 - An English bulldog attacked a Parkside Drive resident's dog on Feb. 2. The resulting injuries led to a $500 veterinary bill. The resident did not know who owns the bulldog.

Trespassing, Feb. 5 - Police had to remove a man who had been barred from the Quarry Bar. The man showed up and tried to hang out in the bar.

Disturbance, Feb. 6 - Family drama at the Giant Eagle. A woman reported that her ex-husband snatched a prescription medication from her at the grocery store. The prescription was meant for the couple's daughter and the ex told police the mother was not providing the prescription to the daughter.

Traffic Complaint, Feb. 7 - An officer following a 2003 Ford Focus stopped the vehicle for rear license plate infraction, non-compliance suspension, and possession of marijuana. The passenger in the car was also cited for marijuana possession.

Theft, Jan. 31 - A woman payed a painter $500 as a deposit for work to be done. The painter never came back and did the work.

Death Investigation, Feb. 10 - A 58-year-old woman was found dead on Oakwood Drive. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
