5th Grader Bullied Online In Avon Lake

The bullies created a fake social media profile to harass a 5th grade student.

AVON LAKE, OH — Teenage bullies were reported to police a week and a half ago. The teenagers reportedly created a fake social media profile for a 5th grader and used it to harass her online. Read on for more information on that incident and others from the past week.

Fraud, June 16 - A resident came to Avon Lake Police Station to report a possible fraud. An unknown phone was added to the resident's plan in March. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Juvenile Complaint, June 16 - A resident on Belmar Boulevard reported that her 4-year-old son was missing. An officer on patrol located the child near the pool on Walker Road and returned the boy to his mother.

Menacing, June 16 - The parents of a fifth grade student reported that their daughter was being bullied at school. The girl's fellow students created a fake account for the girl, using her picture and a video of the girl. Officers obtained information on the bullies and follow-ups have been scheduled with the students involved.

Warrant Service, June 18 - Police took custody of a man wanted for Failure to Appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court. The man was later transported to the Lorain Police Department for an Assault warrant.

Psychiatric Situation, June 20 - Callers reported a person laying across the train tracks near Moore Road. As a train approached, a passerby pulled the person off the tracks. Police later escorted the person to St. John West Shore Hospital for evaluation.
