6 Avon Lake High School Students Named Commended Students
The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes these students for placing in the top 5 percent of students nationally on the PSAT.

AVON LAKE, OH - Six students from Avon Lake High School have been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship program.
Those students, from left to right in the photo above, were:
- Tait Keller
- Catherine McNaghten
- Andrew Peachman
- Caitlin Perez-Stable
- Samuel Redman
- Andrew Shee
Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
