7 Avon High School Students Named Commended Students
The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes these students for placing in the top 5 percent of students nationally on the PSAT.

AVON, OH - Seven Avon High School students were named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship program, the largest number recorded for the school.
The students that were honored, from left to right in the photo above, were:
- Thomas Bulger
- Nicholas Coffey
- Benjamin Colston
- Samuel Eddington
- Mitchell Malinowski
- Austin Williams
- Spencer Yates
Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
