8th Avon Lake Resident Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Avon Lake Mayor Greg Zilka said the resident has been hospitalized because of the new coronavirus.
AVON LAKE, OH — An Avon Lake resident in their 90s has been hospitalized with the new coronavirus, COVID-19, Mayor Greg Zilka announced. This is at least the eighth Avon Lake resident to contract the virus.
Earlier this week, Zilka said two police officers tested positive for COVID-19. The officer is in his home and is self-quarantining.
"It is important to note that the officer is not an Avon Lake resident and will not change our count of the number of people who have tested positive," Zilka said. The officer will be counted among the infected in the town where he resides, the mayor said.
