A Look at Emerging Opportunities

51%: Emerging markets' share of world GDP

It's no secret that emerging markets (EM) are the new drivers of the global economy. Company growth is strong and credit conditions are solid. EM populations are generally young and seeing rising incomes, wealth and, in turn, spending and investment. This stands in stark contrast to much of the developed world, where economies are mature, populations are aging, and GDP will be muted as post-financial-crisis austerity measures throttle growth. Just consider the disproportion between EMs' 51% share of world GDP and their 12% share of stock market capitalization. Clearly, there is significant room for growth in EM assets. But while showing great promise, EM investing is also growing increasingly complex.
